i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

(OP)
i use cosmos designstar and i'm doing a nonlinear analysis of a component made in CuZn30. I need the etan value (tangent modulus)of this material. can someone help me? and after do someone know an internet site where j can find this value for every steels and brass?

RE: i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

Ingmra:

If you are doing a non-linear material analysis you need more data than just the tangent modulus....If thats all you have why do a non-linear analysis???

RE: i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

i must do an analysis of a piece in which there is a geometric nonlinearity (large deformations). now i have the young modulus, the yeld stress, the tensile strenght and ather parameters but i need the tangent modulus because somehow i must define the nonlinear region...

RE: i looking for etan value (tangent modulus)

Ingmra:

OK...Depending on what kind of material model you intend to use you may have enough data....If using a simple elastic-perfectly plastic model (suggested by knowing the yield stress) use the value you have for Youngs modulus for the tangent modulus....The elastic region is defined by the elastic properties of the material and the nonlinear region by the inelasticity equations (flow rule, yield stress, etc....)

Hope this helps....
