I'm trying to design a digital/electronic Speed controler for and RC Car, can anyone point me in the right direction, for source information?
Or are there any schematics/diagrams online?

Thanks TC

RE: Speed controler for RC Car

Hi TCcrush
 some suggestions only
* try the hobby electronics magazines. eg electronics australia silicon chip ( what ever they are called in your part of the world.
* check out the home pages of the clubs. just do a search and see how it goes.
* don't forget that radio control aeroplanes use battery packs as well.

* consider using a standard reciever module from your  rx in the car. My memory says this is a 1-5 V signal. It wouldn't be hard to check. Then use a power ttransistor or mosfet cct to drive the motor.

keep us informed
Don

RE: Speed controler for RC Car

On ebay I saw a little book of tips and tricks for designing RC stuff.  They were for sale cheap, $10 or something like that.  It sounded like there were some pretty cool ideas in it.  There were several of these type of things advertised.  You should check it out.  Good luck.

hi tcrush

How is the controller going. Have you had any luck with getting data. I am interested as well.

We have decided to adapt a controller for an RC tank. This has two motors and the the idea of a controlable reverse is just to tempting. We wont start buildint until September, but I can try and get the specs we have.

Thanks to all for your input.
