Compressive Yield Point

Compressive Yield Point

(OP)
Dear All;
Somebody told me that the compressive yield point used in external ring (for saddle) is different from the value in ASME Sec. II Part D table Y-1.

For my case
Material : SA516 GR.70N (Shell and Stiffener)
Sy in Y-1 table : 262 N/mm²
Sa in 1A table : 137.89 N/mm²
Purpose : Use for external ring on saddle support.
Design condition : 8/FV bar g @ 100°C

My Question
What is the allowable stress for S6 (compressive)? I refer to Pressure Vessel Handbook (Megyesy) and it stated that 0.5 of the yield point (for my case). Can I use the yield strength value as I stated above or there is another compressive yield strength. If there is another value, how can I determine the value? What is the reference book I can refer?

Thank you.
