BREAKING DIMENSION LINES

BREAKING DIMENSION LINES

BREAKING DIMENSION LINES

(OP)
Quick question , I hope......

sw 2003 SP3.1

In a drawing I would like to trim the dimension lines around other dimension lines.  I though that's what the break dimension lines box was for in the dimension manager, but it doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions on how to trim the dim lines around other dim lines?

Thanks,
DG

RE: BREAKING DIMENSION LINES

We have seen this in the past.  The break dimension option will not work on leaders or note lines.  Is the "break in questoin consisting of two dimension lines?

Yes it is with two dimension lines.  I see it both with linear and angular, both dont seem to break. ??

Yes, I have played with the gap but do not see a break regardless of what I set it too.
I have set it absurdly large to test and dont see the break.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks all.

RE: BREAKING DIMENSION LINES

Got to Tools\Options\Document Properties\Dimensions\ and uncheck "Break around Dimension Arrows Only" (located below the gap for break dimension.

This works for me with an Angle Dim and a Horizontal Dim.

I hope this helps,
