Pressure Measurement of Sperheated Steam

Pressure Measurement of Sperheated Steam

Pressure Measurement of Sperheated Steam

(OP)
I have a need to measure pressure and flow of steam at 450 psi and 1200 degrees F.  I am having trouble figuring out how to connect the instruments to the process since 1200 F is above the recommended limit for 316 ss tubng.  I can't find gauge siphons or pigtails rated above about 800 deg F.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

TWCE

RE: Pressure Measurement of Sperheated Steam

Twce - Looking at the ASME  tables  316L  is limited to 850°F.   Using  316,  304,  321 and 310  St. St.   is allowed up to 1,500 °F
If using  1500# rating material 316 St. St.  allowed for 450 psi at 1350°F.

RE: Pressure Measurement of Sperheated Steam

Typically you have to comply with the piping spec directives. field fab. piping has to be used until you get the tempature down. Boiler manuf. have design standards that cover such measurments. It is not a problem.
