Unhandled access violation

(OP)
PROBLEM - when working in drawing/model save or print will initiate an error message 'Unhandled access violation...' what looks like a memory address is referenced in the message.
I have this problem in MDT6, but have had the same generic error message in ACAD R14, 2000 & 2002 over the years.

There aren't any commonalities with the files in terms of complexity, size or command prior to save or print.
I have found that it's possible to copy & paste the drg into a new file & lose the problem, once when the file would not open due to the problem insert as a block worked.
Recover or audit does not identify any errors in the file or fix the problem.

Thanks
