RE: fixing of expansion joint on MS Pipeline for raw water rising main

When the water passes through pipe causes lot of pressure hammers as it passes through bends and routings. Also when there is differential temperatures in atmosphere the pipe expands or contracts. This causes stress on the joint. Sometimes Expansion joints are also used for inspection of line and doing some rectification of line as required. There are two types of popular expansion joints used in this service.
1. Bellow type Expansion Joints
2. Sleeve type Expansion Joints.

Expansion joints are not used in underground lines its used only in lines that are exposed.
