Plastic shims used to align vibrating equipment

Any feedback on experieces and suitable plastic materials to use for shims when aligning vibrating equipment. The shims would be 50mm x 50mm, 1,2,3mm thick in large quantites. The intention is to save cost, the current shim material is stainless steel.

there are several factors to consider (is there pressure on the shims will the shims be exposed to chemicals. More info would help me help you. What type of equipment are you shimming
