AutoCAD Attributes

AutoCAD Attributes

AutoCAD Attributes

(OP)
I think the answer to this question is "no", but I'll ask anyway.  Is there a way to change the order in which you are prompted for attributes?  For example, let's say I have a block with 10 attributes.  I want it to prompt me for values in a specific order (starting at #1 and ending at #10).  It seems that the order in which the attributes were created is the order in which they prompt me for values.  What if I want to add one more attribute, but want it to prompt me for the value between attribute #3 and #4 for example?  Is there a way to change the promting order without recreating the all the atttributes??

Thanks!

Jason

RE: AutoCAD Attributes

Prior to R2000, attribute were propmted for in the order they were selected during creation of the block.  For R2000 and later it is the REVERSE order of selection during creation.  It can be changed by redefining the block and attributes using ATTREDEF.LSP

RE: AutoCAD Attributes

You can turn off the attribute prompts by setting the ATTREQ system variable to 0 and then use DDATTE to display the attributes in a dialog box format or the ATTEDIT to edit attribute value in a dialog box by selecting blocks one at a time. For those attirbutes that will not change, use the constant mode to attribute definitions. I hope this helps. John

RE: AutoCAD Attributes

In release 2004 you can change the attribute order direclty.
