ASME B31.8 Stress Intensification Factors

ASME B31.8 Stress Intensification Factors

ASME B31.8 Stress Intensification Factors

(OP)
Hello,

I am doing some verification work for a subsea piping manifold, specified according to ASME B31.8. The designer mentioned that the code specifies using stress intensification factors only for bending loads. As I do not have access to the code, and I need to verify the use of stress intensification factors for axial loads, I am looking to y'all for some guidance.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

RE: ASME B31.8 Stress Intensification Factors

kakark,
If you are verifying the design in accordance with ASME B31.8 then I would advise that you really need the Code to ensure the Design is in full compliance with the nominated Code.
