HP requirements for drilling aliminium

(OP)
Hi
I have to build a drilling machine that will be drilling two equally spaced holes into a Die cast aliminium, the hole size is 5.5mm and drilling thru 6mm of material, i am using a pneumatic linear slide with a constant speed hydraulic shock absorber, Can anyone tell me the HP requirements to run the drill. I want to size a electric motor to fitinto position

Cheers
Pedro

RE: HP requirements for drilling aliminium

Select a drilling machine which is not too large for the
drill and measure the idle current and while drilling -
 and calculate.
