Need Help Producing Maintenance Standards for Vacuum Interrupters

Need Help Producing Maintenance Standards for Vacuum Interrupters

(OP)
Hi everyone!

I'm looking to upgrade some maintenance standards for vacuum interrupters.  These are a fairly new product for my company and we don't have many standards in place.

I was wondering what kinds of tests were performed as part of preventative maintenance??

Thanks for your help!!

RE: Need Help Producing Maintenance Standards for Vacuum Interrupters

Maintenance test could be from visual, mechanical inspection and electrical test procedure that could be performed to the swgr and breaker with frequency that could varies from 1 year to 2 years as per testing practice recommended by the equipment manufacturer and testing organization such as NETA.

The highlight of the electrical test varies from resistance test, over potential across vacuum bottle, power factor or dissipation factor test on each pole and could be supplemented by infrared, ultrasound and other tests on the vacuum/swgr assembly.

SUGGESTION: Check with the equipment manufacturer, NETA and a local qualified testing company for advise in this matter.

RE: Need Help Producing Maintenance Standards for Vacuum Interrupters

Normally it is best to build from the manufacture's recommended testing methods and intervals.  These should be viewed as the minimum standard.  This information should be readily available in the instruction manuals furnished with the equipment.
