Could anyone tell me what the "rotate equipment" mean?
I think that pumps and compressors are includd in them. Is there any others.
What should a mechanicla engineer know about them? any recommend referce book?

Pumps, compressors and turbines are usually what is described as Rotating Equipment
Yes you should know something about them..cant quote a text, try  browsing through Google for Rotating equipment .description you will probably get some basic expalnation in there and be able to work your way forward..its big subject
