im trying to create an animation of a piece of paper being wrapped around a rotating cylinder, but im having problems creating a surface that can be manipulated in this way. Is this possible in solid works, and is there an easy way to do this?
thanx for your help

RE: animation
Although there is no way to simulate a paper wrapping in SolidWorks per se. There is a work around.
Create different configurations ... showing the different stages of the paper (i.e. flat, a bit bent, more bent, almost wrapped, and completely wrapped).
Run a screen capture in Animator, then switch between configurations... and voila!
Cheers,
Joseph

RE: animation
FIXING THEM BOTH USING THE PLANES NOT ANY POINT ON THE PAPER THIRDLY MATE A DRIVER OBJECT WE USE ARROWS TO THE SKETCH IN THE FEATURE TREE AND USE THIS TO PULL AND PUSH THE SKETCH THIS WILL MOVE YOUR PAPER ,AS ITS RELYING ON THE
ARROW FOR ITS DRIVEN STATE IT TOOK US A WHILE HOW ON HOW TO DO THIS BUT YOU CAN DRIVE SKETCHES WITH OBJECTS.
AND INSTEAD OF USING CONFIGURATIONS OF AN OBJECT IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE IT SMOOTHLY ON A FRAMES PER SECOND BASIS
RE: animation
interesting tip though. I would have use the configs myself.
