Lube Oil Formulation (additives addition)
Lube Oil Formulation (additives addition)
(OP)
Regarding to the industrial lube oil formulation I have some questions about the additives addition to the base oil as follows:
In some procedures, it is mentioned that after addition of additives (liquids or powders) the mixture should be mixed at 10 barg and 100^C for 2 hours.I do not know what are the reasons? It is for complete mixing or some reactions might be occurred between the base oil and additives, which one?and why?

RE: Lube Oil Formulation (additives addition)
To ansver your question I would contact the producer of the specific additive. Each additive has its best way to mix it into the base, established by the producer. As a general rule, you must not to heat the base over 65 grad C in order to make slower tar formation during the lube oil expluatation.
