What or where are the guidelines/recommendations for locating construction joints in a steel and concrete composite slab and beam system?

RE: Composite Floor Construction
Page 80 of the above suggest's "Typical pour sizes are up to 1000m2 / day, although there is no technical limitation to the area that may be concreted. Where the limits of the pour do not conicide with permanent slab edges, construction (day joints) are used to define the extent of the pour."
It goes on to suggest that day joints should be over a support position and a butt joint. If this is not possible then no more than 1/3 of a deck span should be left un poured.
A copy of our, Ward Building Components, Multideck Handbook can be downloaded from our web site at www.wards.co.uk, and this states/shows the same information with other 'typical' details.
Hope that this helps
