Residential Slab on Ground Design

(OP)
I am currently designing slabs on ground in accordance with the current Australian Standard, which is generally OK. The problem comes when I need to design a large residential slab. The standard points to an engineering design without giving an appropriately detailed method.

I have looked at a couple of computer programs, but these seem to be more conservative than the standard, which doesn't help me design a cost effective slab for my clients. Can anyone help with a reference or a computer program?

My main problem is designing for ground heave in the order of 70mm.

Thanks
sc
