floating suction for petroleum oils

I would like to know if some details on LARCO make swivel type of floating suction can be furnished for aviation oil tanks

RE: floating suction for petroleum oils

There are also designs that incorporate a hose skimmer system into the tank.  I have seen several installations at GE Aircraft in Cincinnati, OH.  They were manufactured by Mesa Rubber in Cin.

RE: floating suction for petroleum oils

We always use BTE (Baillie Tank Equipment) swing joints for all our suction lines. They manufacture central type swing joints for aviation use from 3" to 30" diameter. See www.baillietank.com

RE: floating suction for petroleum oils

I believe that BTE uses HMT equipment pretty much exclusively.  Their seals and swivels are identical.  Their swingjoints, in my opinion, are not as sturdy and proven as the Huber Statite design which has been around a lot longer.

May be you need to try Alternate type Swivel Joints (such as Double Ball Races Type with Triple Seal Design).

RE: floating suction for petroleum oils

which kind of informations are you looking for??
Their main advantages are that it is symetrical and that it uses a spring to compensate for the gear wear area, and keep a very good sealing. We've been using LARCO's FSU for 25 years without having ever change any spare part
