Hello, everybody. I have a question: how can I calculate the required force to press a pin in a hole when I know the diameter of the pin, the hole, and the friction coefficient, and how can I calculate after that the axial resistance of the assembly. I know it's not a very hard problem, but I need an advice... Thanks a lot in advance for your answer!

P = (A x a x F) / 2
where
P = ultimate required pressure, in tons
a = total "allowance" (interference) in inches
F = "pressure factor" which depends on the size of the hub relative to the size of the bore, and the materials of each part
There's a table of given pressure factors, but they assume a machine steel shaft and a cast iron hub which has an OD twice that of the bore. The relationship between the pressure factor, the frictional coefficient of the materials, and the hub OD:bore ratio is not given.
