Trisodium Phosphate Effect on Ceramic?

Trisodium Phosphate Effect on Ceramic?

Trisodium Phosphate Effect on Ceramic?

(OP)
Can anyone confirm if TSP is likely to have any negative effect on Ceramic?
The application is a ceramic plunger in a metering/dosing pump. Temps are ambient but pressures may be 10-20 Bar.

Corrosion compatability tables that I have seen do not include ceramic and I would expect it is OK but would appreciate confirmation.

thanks in advance

RE: Trisodium Phosphate Effect on Ceramic?

Need to know what type of ceramic it is, and what concentrations of TSP you are using. But I suspect your hunch is right - TSP solution would be basic, and might attack alumina, although at ambient temperatures even that would happen relatively slowly.
