RE: Access Violation Fault
If so, try another file.
And if the file is the cause, open a blank file and do an "AUDIT" on the BAD file from the blank file.
Hope that helps.

RE: Access Violation Fault
If so, the common XREF file could be bad.
2 solutions if this is the case:
Solution One:
Try to locate the bad CAD file and DO an audit fix.
Then purge & audit all the files XREF'ing the bad file.
Locating would mean detaching each XREF and then zooming and hatching to see if the file still crashes.
Solution Two:
Take all the files involved.
Detach all the files.
Then purge each file 3 times to get all nested items.
Then audit all of them.
WBLOCK all the linework out of EACH file.
Then re-format all your files ... by XREFing them to each other again.
This is a very drastic solution but very effective.
I've seen this problem before in my office. And these steps have fixed the problem you've described.
"Soltuion Two" seems to go faster than "one". "Solution One" seems to waste time with the trial & error task.
It all depends on how many files you're dealing with ....
Maybe someone else has some other insight to this problem.
Hope I helped in some way.
