Do I need to carry out Hydrotest?

Do I need to carry out Hydrotest?

Do I need to carry out Hydrotest?

(OP)
A plant in refinery is constructed before more than a year. Due to unavoidable circumstances, it could not be commissioned. All the equipment and machinery are not in operation after they are erected.

Is there any standard which says about requirement of Hydrotest of heat exchanger if it is not under operation for a particular period of time?

Is there any guideline available for this? I mean if MOC of exchanger is SS we may not require hydrotest.
or may be the requirement is just irrespective of MOC.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Do I need to carry out Hydrotest?

Dear Nirav,
I think if you've done hydrostatic in the shop or field, you do not need repeat the test. But please check the welding connection from corrosion before you do commissioning stage.
