Importing Ansys File into IDEAS 9

Importing Ansys File into IDEAS 9

Importing Ansys File into IDEAS 9

(OP)
hi,
I need to import Ansys File into IDEAS , the only options i have is .rst file ( but my ANSYS model is in the Pre-processing Stage) and the other is export the model to Hypermesh and write a Nastran Bulk Data , and then import to IDEAS . But After reading the Nastran Bulk Data file into IDEAS some elements ( Contact Elements) are not read .
What could be the problem ?
Is there any other way , i can import ansys file into IDeas?

Any Inputs are most welcome

RE: Importing Ansys File into IDEAS 9

Run a frequency analysis with ANSYS. In this case you do not need any load set and restarin set, therefore it is run and you can import the file! (I do not know it is possible to import from ANSYS the contact!)
Once I installed Ideas8 and in the meshing I could import Ideas cdb. After some month later I reinstalled ideas 8 and I got a total different import process: import from rst file! It was a surprice! Do you what was created different?
