Methane extraction system

Methane extraction system

Methane extraction system

(OP)
Does anyone have any tips or references for design of a methane collection system below the ground floor of a building (built on organic fill). I know we have install perforated pipes to mechanically vent the sub-floor, but that's about it.  Thanks in advance.

This document has some information in that should help. One of the systems I saw included an exhaust fan that ran continuously to keep the CH4 concentarction below the Low Flammability value. This was installed after the plumber started a fire and explosion when he lite a cigarette, droping the match into the sump.

Methane came from construction waste buied in a trench in the back yard and a warm moist spring (High water table)
