deep drawing, looking for ideas

(OP)
Hello everybody,

This forum seems to be pretty dead right now. Nobody has any problems with Marc? ;) I hope the questions below will initiate some nice discussion.

I am tying to build up a 2D axisymmetric deep drawing simulation and I bounced into several issues. I would like to hear your opinion.

1, What friction model shall I use under the blankholder?

2, Can I solve the following problem using rigid bodies for the blankholder, or do I have to use deformable? : The blankholder should be lifted up by the blank due to its thickness change. (blankholder force applied on the other side)

3, What element type would you use with which options?

4, What value of relative sliding velocity shall I use?

5, Any other ideas, experiences, general rules for deep drawing models? Anything what you can think of... Please don't be shy...

Thanks
GSC

RE: deep drawing, looking for ideas

1. Coulomb
2. to use rigid bodies is enough.
3. 4 node shell element
4. default
