ASME Specifications for Product Marking SA-53

ASME Specifications for Product Marking SA-53

ASME Specifications for Product Marking SA-53

(OP)
SA-53 lists specific product markings for pipe. However, if small lengths of pipe
are being purchased, with numerous lengths, is there a way to
write into the purchase specification an alternate method, such as tagging the part,
such that proof that the material is as ordered? Stamping or marking all of the data specified in SA-53 would not be practical or feasible for small lengths of pipe. Pipe
diameters would range from 1" to 6" in diameter.

RE: ASME Specifications for Product Marking SA-53

You may wish to contol these as parts. See ASME SecI PG-90,A-300. SecVIII UG-77. You will need to address this in your QC System and have a procedure. Discuss with your AI.
