Resolution on Circles
Resolution on Circles
(OP)
When I draw a circle, and then zoom in on the circle, the circle appears to have edges, and is very jagged. If I extrude a part from the circle, the part has jagged edges as well. If I zoom out, it looks fine. It does not seem like I zoom in very much before I start seeing edges on circular or curved geometry.
Does anyone know how to increase the resolution of these?

RE: Resolution on Circles
When you zoom in, right click and choose update display. That will update the geometry in the view. This problem probably only happens when you have a large model up, I assume. You can also adjust the settings in preferences-->visualization-->shade--> for optimal performance.

RE: Resolution on Circles
Go to Format/Layout/Update display or
try Format/Layout/Regenerate
This will set right your problem

RE: Resolution on Circles
this is one to look out for when working on Drawing Specifications also, we model everything on nominal, including very small radii. if the graphics settings are not correct these rads can dissappear when working on Drawing specifications.

RE: Resolution on Circles
I usually set this at 0.0001
Maybe you want to turn on anti aliasing as well,
althought it might slow you down.
To see if it does, go to
preferences/ visualization performance/general settings/evaluate graphics performance
RE: Resolution on Circles
Good subject, the regen works for me in modeling and in a drafting view, update works like a charm,
