Water Column Separation Engine ?

Water Column Separation Engine ?

Water Column Separation Engine ?

(OP)
May I ask you, will my WCS engine work?

Imagine, a long water filled pipe or cylinder with a sealed piston in connected to a crankcase mechanism.   By pushing the piston and the water column and suddenly stop or turn the piston. The water column moves further (more feets), create vacuum, evaporation and condense (cavitation or water column separation or condensation induced waterhammer). The water column will return with a much higher velocity according Joukowski`s law, maximum hammer head = C/g Vo and maximum pressure =p x c x v. where rho is fluid density and v is slug velocity and c is the speed of sound in water, about 4300 fps.

According to the formula, it looks like a perpetual motion machine, but is it?
I am told that a pmm engine is not possible!

With kind regards

RE: Water Column Separation Engine ?

PHEs:
Some of the enegry in the column of fluid will be lost to friction (internal to the fluid and between the cylinder walls and the fluid). Also some energy will be lost in the compression / vaporization process.

Due to these unrecoverable losses (Entropy) the System will eventually run down.

Joukowski's law deals with the maximum pressure generated and does not take into account the losses of the processes involved.
