Pro-e and material properties
Pro-e and material properties
(OP)
hi there,
why is it that pro-e uses units for some of the material properties that i have never came across before.
thermal conductivity for instance i would say (w/mK) was a good one but proe has (inlbm/(sec^3F)) maybe its just me but i have a hard time converting them any one know a good way to convert them (web site of something)?
maybe its just me being stupid
cheers

RE: Pro-e and material properties
Check the following site where you can find a lot of info materials and their properties either in imperial and SI units.

RE: Pro-e and material properties
Go to the units menu in your part (Setup --> Units). From here you can setup a new set of units (non-standard). When you do this you have the option to define each unit for each type of measurement. You can specify length to be inches, time to be seconds, mass to be kg, temperature to be Celcius, etc.
You should be able to define the unit of measurement needed, so that you will not need to convert when using Pro/Mech.
Good luck!
