hook style anchor bolts

(OP)
I am a design engineer for a metal building fabricator and have repeatedly run into the question of how to consider the hook on a cast in place anchor bolt into the strength for uplift.  For bond strength to the anchor surface I have always used 160psi on the vertical area only ignoring the hook.  How much help does the hook offer?

I see where publications such as 'Design of Headed Anchor Bolts' is suggested in other postings.  Do any of the publications address hook type anchors.

Thank in Advance,
OzarkMtbr

RE: hook style anchor bolts

ACI 318-02 Appendix D addresses hooked anchor bolts.
