Looking for a flowmeter
Looking for a flowmeter
(OP)
I am looking for a flowmeter for various liquids which will handle solvents and acids , 1' and 2" dia - with intriscially safe display or explosionproof showing both rate and total and be low cost - under $1500 -

RE: Looking for a flowmeter
What kind of pipe and what are the pipe dimensions, class, schedule, or whatever.
What is the total range of velocities that must be measured accurately?
How accurate at what ranges?
Exactly what kinds of fluids? Will 316 stainless suffice?
Any solids in the fluid?
Give us everything you can think of.

RE: Looking for a flowmeter
Is that 1 inch or 2 inch pipe? - yes
What kind of pipe Stainless steel - sch 40
Flow rates will be max about 30 -40 gpm
Accuracy - 1 % or so
Solvents ( acetone, toluene), acetic acid, sulfuric acid - any of these at 100 % concentration
No solids
RE: Looking for a flowmeter
All I know of are 316 Stainless penetration types for under 1,500.00 with that kind of accuracy.
My next move would be non-penetrating types, time of transit, doppler, etc., but none under 1,500.00 I know of, and certainly not with explosion proof.

RE: Looking for a flowmeter
Fischer Rosemount has mags, with detachable indicator and this can be placed anywhere within 15 meters. I don't know the cost at your geography, but that is quite a good budget here in India. Moreover these meters come with exotic inner linings to deal with any bloody acid and alkali.
