Stone veneer bonded to concrete masonry units

I have a project where the owner wants to install a stone veneer to the structural exterior cmu walls. The veneer varies in thickness from 12" at the base to 1" at the top. He would prefer not to have "brick angles" visible at the window and door heads. How could a veneer be bonded to the cmu without the angle supports and up to what thickness could this be accomplished?

RE: Stone veneer bonded to concrete masonry units

1. Is this one story and how high ??
2. What span are the openings ??

THE BUILDING IS A RESIDENCE.  THE WINDOWS ARE 12' WIDE MAX.
