Non circular o-ring groove
Non circular o-ring groove
(OP)
Excuse my Mech Desktop inscribed brain
Trying to carve SolidWorks in it at the Moment.
I want to put in an o-ring groove but the path for the o-ring groove is rectangular with fillet corners.
I created a sketch that defines the path I want the o-ring to follow then I made a sketch plane perpendicular to this and made my o-ring sketch profile. But how do I extrude cut along the path??
Thanks,
DG
p.s. Remember the path is not circular

RE: Non circular o-ring groove
How are contours used in SW?
Thanks again,

RE: Non circular o-ring groove
A section and a path must be provided to define a sweep. The section may have more than one contour for solid sweep. To make a solid sweep, all the contours must also be closed.
....
What contours? Isn't my sketch closed? It is fully defined and it loos as it start and ends at the same point and no lines cross??
Thanks again,
DG

Sure enough I went back and looked at my dovetail profile and it was screwed. I fixed and it work.
