Modal Superposition

Modal Superposition

(OP)
Would someone please explain if modal superposition is possible for frequencies only. In other words, I'm not looking for maximums, I want to investigate the possibility of resonance if two or more sources of vibration are in operation at different times. If you have, say, 3 equipment on one platform, there may be a resonance if one, two or three of them are running simultanously. I can find the solution for individual frequency, but I don't know how to combine the frequencies. I don't want to do a time history, because it will not give the effect of frequency. It will only give deflection, speed and acceleration.
I'll be grateful for any response.
Thanks.
