UL 60950-1 electronincs packaging question

(OP)
First post - I hope I'm in the right place...

I'm designing a small weatherproof enclosure for telecom use, basically as a wireless router permanently mounted outdoors.

Does anyone know if, or what air gap is required between printed circuit assemblies and its enclosure wall as spec. or recomended by any relavent specification, e.g. UL 60950-1?

to minimize the enlosure size (cost) my client is insisting on a 'glove' type fit which basically butts the four sides of the largest printed circuit board to the enclosure walls...seems like an inherently bad idea to me...but is there any justification for either having a close/gapped fit?

Thanks!

(if any relavent spec. like 60950-1 shows up in my mailbox - i won't complain ;>)
