Water filling in Abaqus

Water filling in Abaqus

(OP)
Hi everybody.
I am modeling a tissue expantion with Abaqus and I have a doubt.I consider a plane round membrane, fixed in its edges and subjected to a internal pressure, simuling a fluid filling. To calculate the internal volume in the end of this step, I am using fluid elements, as indicated in the manual.
After this, I would like to  simulate gravity. Imagine that now the membrane is filled with water (or saline) and I would like to calculate the efects of water's weight.
Is it possible in this analysis?

Thanks!

RE: Water filling in Abaqus

Not directly utilizing F3D4 elements, as the volume has "mass", but does not generate mass-based loads.
One would need to instead utilize acoustic elements with fluid properties, or else use F3D4 elements in conjunction with DLOAD.

Good idea! I will try it! Thanks
