Controling four dc motors with one CPU

(OP)
I am using one cpu to control the posistion and speed of a dc motor. I would like to control four dc motors with the one cpu using an encoder to sense speed and posistion of each motor.
What can I do to prevent the cpu from being overloaded with these task?

RE: Controling four dc motors with one CPU

Suggestion: The manufacturer may have some suitable product in terms of CPU fan-out devices (or number of parallel controllers/drivers) with respect to one CPU.

RE: Controling four dc motors with one CPU

If I was using a modern pc running win2000 and Visual C++ I don't see where I would have an issue of cpu overload. Am I missing something?
