Honda Generators + Voltage Regulators

Honda Generators + Voltage Regulators

(OP)
I need a good starting point and/or information about Honda Generators with Automatic Voltage Regulators.

I need to know information about the output, as in whether or not the output is a sinusoid, or if there's some distortion in the waveform, any peaks, etc.

We have problems in the field with a customer who powers our controller with a 6500W gen; the caps on the controller are exploding.  It's suspected that possibly the coltage regulation is too slow and the voltage remains high when it should be much lower.  Therefore, information on how their voltage regulation is performed will be greatly appreciated.
