Hi,

I am trying to design some lightweight struts.

Anyone know what would be a sensible value to take for the compressive strength of GRP or Carbon Fibre in this respect.

check out fortress stabilization systems web page.  they are using the carbon fiber straps in tension but maybe they can provide some info on compression
