yes....structural, 6 to 8 1/2 feet in diameter

Do a search on Eng-Tips for Deep Foundations Institute, ADSC, FHWA - someone started a thread within the last week to 10 days asking the same question.

If you are talking about drilled caissons, they are simple. The drill/auger drills the hole and extracts the soil. Walls can be lines with expansive clay to maintain the inside walls integrity. The steel cage is dropped in. I recommend using the bar spacers (plastic wheels that fit on the bars to provide the required cover. The concrete is placed.
