Pumps

Pumps

(OP)
If a pump is operated by using compressed air at 7 barg does this mean the discharge line of the pump is at 7 barg whilst liquid is being pumped?

RE: Pumps

ab12cd, I take it this is an AODD pump? If so, the answer is no! The discharge press can be anywhere from grater that 0 barg to 7 barg at the dead head condition.

RE: Pumps

Don't mix up pressures with work. Work (ie, energy) depends also on the motive quantities and volumes, and the moved pressures and flow rates, and of course, efficiencies.
