RE: Pull-out strength of Helicoils

They have charts in the back of their [paper] catalog -Tensile Strength of Ass'y vs. Parent Mat'l Shear Strength.
 - For large sizes, call them up & they'll fax you a chart.

also see ASME B18.29.1 "Helical Coil Screw Thread Inserts - Free Running and Screw Locking (Inch Series)"

also check out Fairchild "Recoil" fasteners if you can't get Helicoils quick enough http://www.recoil.com.au/default.htm

RE: Pull-out strength of Helicoils

I am currently on a project where hardened helicoil inserts are being used in a quick change blind application. They are used as a wear item in the 316SS flanges and can be replaced rather than the flange. They are 1" dia. bolts and are designed for 3600 psi working pressure. You may want to phone WellMark Company at 1-800-424-8647 if this is relevant to your question.

RE: Pull-out strength of Helicoils

If you go to emhart.com look for Bulletin 1000

Also look at Military Specification Sheet MS33537E
