Noise reduction between exhibition halls

Noise reduction between exhibition halls

Noise reduction between exhibition halls

(OP)
This is an exibition hall in a Convention Center. It has movable divider walls because it is used for smaller shows, also. Those walls doesn´t reach ceiling because the architectural design (There is 4 mts. between the wall top and the ceiling). Frequently there are problems when 2 shows are in adjacent halls.
I'd like to know the best way to solve this situation. Do you know some noise absorver device for that situation.
Thanks

RE: Noise reduction between exhibition halls

I strongly suggest asking the Usenet newsgroup alt.sci.physics.acoustics for any architectural acoustics questions. Do a search on google groups first to read up on past posts on this or similar problems.

Anyway, without doing any measurements it is a bit hard to say, but roughly you need to (a) block all holes and then (b) increase the absorption of the room.

One way of doing that that might be acceptable is to hang semi porous panels from the roof.

Cheers

Agree with Greg, baffels suspended under the roof would increase the absorption and block, at least partly, the directs reflections from room to room via the roof. The pattern the baffels er suspended is important for the effect. Try to criss-cross them.

You need to measure the reverbration time of such a
  complex couple space

curtains are commonly used, but the best thing to do is to contact the design architect. There are a lot of arcane rules imposed on occupied spaces as a result of local fire codes.
