Ice Piles

(OP)
Hi,

Anyone know of any Ice-Piling specialists?  We are trying to set up a structure on extremely environmentally sensitive, wet peat.

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

RE: Ice Piles

Are you kidding ?  Never heard of ice piles.  If you're not kidding you might try searching the net for the Corps of Engineers, Cold Regions Research Laboratory.  If such structures are possible they would know.

Stay cool.

RE: Ice Piles

Are you talking about freezing the soils so you can dig? It was done in Minneapolis to put in a tunnel on I-94 in the 60's. Drilled down and placed hosees to circulate the freezing medium. worked very well. the church they were protecting didn't move.
