MX Road

MX Road

(OP)

I am desperate to learn MX road, and my company are currently using Key Terra Firma, which on the whole i am finding very useful indeed. I am told Key Terra Firma is in many ways very similar to MXRoad, however most highway engineers in the UK are using MXRoad. I am in a chicken and egg situation really, my company dont have any plans to buy MX Road as KTF is considerably cheaper, yet I AM very keen to learn it, as i wont be at my present company for ever and understand that if i ever move i will be expected to have a working knowledge of MX ROad.

My question is this: Do infrasoft or anyone else for that matter produce trial versions of the software or limited time period licenses, or even some software literature, a reference guide for example, to enable lone engineers like myself to learn how to use the software without incurring ridiculous training costs of £200 per day?

Please help,

Mike

RE: MX Road

mikec1972,

Keep one thing in mind that all software (Mx, Inroad, geopak, terrafirma etc.) do basically the same sort of things (more or less). If you learn Terra very well, I am sure that you can pick up Mx on your own within days when chance permits.

Mx is now with Bentley. You can contact them to check out whether they have a demo version. I am sure they have this but this is another chicken and egg story. They hand it over to you only if they see you are buying it and when you intend to buy it do you need a demo copy?

Anyway, g'luck.
