R22 compressor used with R12

R22 compressor used with R12

R22 compressor used with R12

Due not known razon it is a water chiller with out its compressor.

The facts are as follow :
Home made or a little shop done.
All presostats are setup for R12 pressures.
High press set point 225 # (pd/sq inch)
Low press set point to control the system 32 #
Low press set point to avoid runing without gas 6#
The suction and discharge pipes have ROTALOC as the ones pertaining to COPELAMETIC.
Air condensed.
Termic relay rated at 5,5 AMP
Voltage 3 x 380V  50 Hz
I have no idea about waterflow .
Output chilled water temp: 4 °C

All seem to be that a 500 series COPELAMETIC or 5Hp.
It was a way of work here to use a R22 compressor but runing it on R12 because to this HP rate a 5HP R22 comp is cheaper than a 4 HP R12 compresor , and in our country there where not any COPELAMETIC Compressor for R12.

My corncern is , what is the rated capacity when any given R22 compressor is run with R12?? .

Thank in advance.

I DID A MISTAKE .

It should be a COPELAWELD no a COPELAMETIC.

RE: R22 compressor used with R12

I did a quick calculation considering 00C evaporating temperature and 30 0C condensing temperature, neglecting subcooling and superheating at condenser and evaporator respectively. The power consumption drops by 4% when used with R12. Compression ratio is almost same for both R12 and R22. But you should change the expansion device.Discharge pressure of 225PSI seems to be quite high.
