Self certification for Biofilters

Self certification for Biofilters

Self certification for Biofilters

(OP)
CE certification for biofilters.  Biofilters treat organic contaminants present in a gas stream, by using live bacteria that biodegrades the organics into carbon dioxide and water.  Biofilters are basically used for controlling air pollution from manufacturing operations.

What is required to get CE certification for a biofilter, which essentially operates at atmospheric pressure in a FRP vessel ?  All components other than the vessel and its contents, such as blower, pumps, control panel, etc. are EU certified by their respective manufacturers.  There is no active biological material in the system, since the live bacteria are added once installed in its location.  Hence, no bacteria are exported.
