Expanded Metal

Expanded Metal

Expanded Metal

(OP)
This may have been asked before but I would like to know if there is a way to draw expanded metal without having to cut a diamond (forgive the pun) and having to array it XXX times thus creating a large file. Perhaps there is a routine available out there. I also want to be able form the expanded metal and eventually create a flat blank.
Thanks in advance for the help.

RE: Expanded Metal

(OP)
For anyone interested I found a sort of sollution to my own question. I created and applied a bmp of a screen material that has transparent center sections. I then opened the Format menu and chose Color. I then selected the bmp and applied it to my solid sheets. After playing with the Scale and Rotation the result is the appearance of expanded metal. In the 2D drawings the part shows as a solid but the notes could be used to indicate the true material.
If anyone has any other ideas please reply. Thanks again.

RE: Expanded Metal

Under color is a mesh or net that looks like flattened expanded metal. I have used this for numerous items, including unflattened sheets.
