Load Rating for CIP PT Box

Load Rating for CIP PT Box

(OP)
We need to do Load Rating for H-20 load for cast-in-place post tensioned box girder two-span continuous bridge.  We have software called "WINBDS" that performs load rating check for only flexural load.  I will appreciate if any of you could let me know if you have used software that performs Load Rating check for the Shear Load.  Thanks a lot

RE: Load Rating for CIP PT Box

This isn't really a code issue. Why don't you crosspost your question in the Bridge Engineering Forum located in the 'Engineering Forums by Industry' section.

If you have the shear demands and capacities and you are using LFD it should be fairly easy to do by hand. As I recall WinBDS should give the info. Maybe turn on a more detailed report.

I hope you are checking the AASHTO manual for the condition evaluation for existing bridges. Check what needs to be checked for PT Girders ie strand, ultimate flexure, ultimate shear, service level stresses, fatigue, etc. Maybe the state dot or owner is only requiring shear and flexure checks?

Well...

It looks like you already did cross-post.
