Plate Exhangers and ASME Code

Plate Exhangers and ASME Code

Plate Exhangers and ASME Code

(OP)
Hi!
I need to know if there is an ASME code for plate heat exchangers and if there is one what are the requirements for pressure and temperatures.

Thanks for the help!

RE: Plate Exhangers and ASME Code

Commonly, the pressure design code and structural welding code for plate heat exchanger shall be specified or agreed by the purchaser. For example, they might be ASME VIII, Div. 1, for general service, or should conform to ASME, Section VIII Div.2 for the fatigue design under cyclic service condition.

RE: Plate Exhangers and ASME Code

ASME SEC VIII can be used for Plate type Exchanger.

Industries (Outside US) generally refer to SPVC(Swedish Pressure Vessel Code)
